CHRO Gerard Penning to leave ABN AMRO on 1 December 2022

According to a statement released by ABN AMRO Bank NV today, Gerard Penning, the bank’s CHRO and a member of the Executive Board, will depart on December 1, 2022. The bank and Gerard Penning mutually agreed on this.

At the time of the global pandemic, the wind-down of operations in Asia-Pacific and the US, and significant organizational changes in the bank’s senior management, Gerard Penning joined ABN AMRO in August 2020, presenting the bank with unprecedented HR issues. Through difficult circumstances, Gerard guided the HR division. He has continuously shown pragmatism and personal dedication in his approach.

Robert Swaak, CEO of ABN AMRO, said, “We appreciate Gerard for his dedication and the zeal with which he has met significant HR problems at ABN AMRO in recent years. I send him my best wishes for future success in his profession on behalf of the entire Executive Board.
