Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) appoints new executives to lead US global asset management arm

Royal Bank of Canada (RBC) has announced the appointment of Jessica Rausch as chief operating officer and Brandon Lew as president of its US global asset management (GAM) business. These leadership changes follow Donald Sanya’s recent appointment as CEO of the division. The new roles will take effect on August 1, with Rausch and Lew succeeding Carol Kuha and Mike Lee, who will retire at the end of July.

Sanya, originally from Kenya, joined RBC in 2014 and has previously held senior positions at BlackRock (NYSE:BLK). Under the leadership of Sanya, Rausch, and Lew, the RBC GAM group, which manages approximately $453 billion in assets, will continue to operate with teams across Asia, Europe, and North America.

This leadership reshuffle is part of RBC’s strategy to seek growth opportunities beyond the Canadian market, expanding into areas such as personal banking, capital markets, and asset management.
