Crypto Exchange Binance to Suspend US Dollar Bank Transfers This Week

The Crypto Exchange said that USD bank transfers comprise only a few monthly active users.

Bank transactions in US dollars will be temporarily suspended starting on Wednesday, the cryptocurrency exchange Binance announced to CoinDesk on Monday.

According to a Binance representative, only 0.01% of monthly active customers use USD bank transfers. Hence “we are temporarily stopping USD bank transactions as of February 8th.” Customers who are affected are being informed directly.

The representative continued, “In the interim, all other methods of purchasing and selling cryptocurrency remain unchanged, including bank transfer using one of the other fiat currencies accepted by Binance (including euros), purchasing and selling cryptocurrency through credit card, debit card, Google Pay, and Apple Pay, as well as via our Binance P2P marketplace.
