NEO Battery Materials (TSXV:NBM) files key silicon anode patent

Neo Battery Materials (NMO) has recently submitted its most recent patent application to the Korean Intellectual Property Office.

The recently filed patent, titled “Silicon Composite Manufacturing Method,” represents a significant advancement in the cost-reduction innovation for the research and development of NEO Battery’s silicon anode materials, known as NBMSiDE.

The company has now filed its sixth patent with the Korean Intellectual Property Office, focusing on the one-step nanocoating technology utilized for silicon anodes.

During the first half of 2023, NEO Battery Materials plans to file several patents to establish a strong intellectual property (IP) portfolio encompassing its materials and manufacturing processes. Additionally, the company aims to seek extensive patent protection in various jurisdictions by applying to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the World Intellectual Property Organization.

The company has also completed the request for quotation at its South Korean commercial plant.

The company has announced the successful approval of the construction permit, signifying a significant achievement. Moving forward, the team will proceed with negotiations to finalize the selection of the contractor. Once the contractor is confirmed, the company will commence site clearance, basic civil engineering, procurement planning, and construction management planning at the Oseong Zone site.
