Binance Launches Blockchain Education Program in Kazakhstan

Binance, a cryptocurrency exchange, is supporting a programme to prepare university students in Kazakhstan for careers in the sector. In accordance with a deal with the government, universities all throughout the nation will now offer a blockchain course on their curriculum.

Binance Exchange to Help Teach Blockchain at Kazakhstan’s Universities

The biggest cryptocurrency exchange in the world, Binance, is starting a school programme in Kazakhstan. According to a press statement on Tuesday, the trading platform is getting ready to offer blockchain training to more than 40,000 students at universities and colleges across the Central Asian country by 2026.

Binance is working on the project in collaboration with the Ministry of Digital Development, the Ministry of Education, and the Blockchain Center research lab, which was founded by the Center for the Development of Payment and Financial Technologies of the National Bank of Kazakhstan (NBK) and the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC).

Zhaslan Madiyev, general manager of Binance Kazakhstan, signed a memorandum of collaboration with various government agencies outlining the terms under which the project will be carried out. In accordance with the agreement, the exchange will offer support and instructional materials for the fundamental course on compliance and blockchain technology.

Kazakhstan now becomes one of the first countries to add a blockchain curriculum to universities’ educational programs, the announcement noted. “Professionals with the knowledge of blockchain, digital assets and compliance will become a resource for the global blockchain industry,” the participants hope. Gleb Kostarev, Asia regional head at Binance, commented:

We support Kazakhstan’s goal to become a leading player in digital technologies which would not be possible without increasing education and blockchain adoption around the country.

Global Cryptocurrency Exchange Seeks Expansion in Central Asia

An encounter between President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Binance founder and CEO Changpeng Zhao in May of this year led to the project. In October, Binance offered the government of Kazakhstan to assist in the “safe development” of the nation’s crypto industry. The NBK intends to deploy its digital tenge using the Bnb Chain.

Binance was authorized to run as a cryptocurrency exchange and custody services supplier out of the Astana financial centre in October. Kazakhstan is the subject of attention because, following Chinese authorities’ crackdown on the mining sector in 2021, it has emerged as a key mining hub. Its government has been attempting to control the cryptocurrency industry.

During the current crypto winter, the global platform has been attempting to increase its footprint in the area. It has also spoken with representatives from neighbouring Kyrgyzstan. It also made the offer earlier this month to assist the government of Azerbaijan, another former Soviet state, in creating a national regulatory framework for digital assets.
